Our Lady of 121st Street

Our Lady of 121st Street

Death brings people together. So when the much beloved and much feared Sister Rose passes away, those students whose lives she touched, return to the old East Harlem neighborhood to pay their respects. Only thing is, somebody has stolen the body. The next 24 hours showcase a parade of kids having an unscheduled reunion as adults struggle to deal with their personal grief, their past, their present and each other.

The New York Times praised this play as "a scorching and dark new comedy. Mr. Guirgis has one of the finest imaginations for dialogue to come along in years."
